In this talk, Duke University Press Editor Elizabeth Ault and Developmental Editor Katherine Wiley will explore the process of turning your dissertation into a book, from defense to publication. The talk will emphasize finding the right press and editor, thinking about audiences, sharpening your argument, and developing your voice as a writer and thinker.
At Duke University Press, Ault acquires books across critical area and ethnic studies; feminist, queer, and trans studies; disability studies, sociology, and more. Wiley is an experienced developmental editor and former tenured professor with an interdisciplinary background focusing on scholarly work.
