From Dissertation to Publication

In this talk, Duke University Press Editor Elizabeth Ault will explore the process of turning your dissertation into a book, from defense to publication. The talk will emphasize finding the right press and editor, thinking about audiences, sharpening your argument, and developing your voice as a writer and thinker.

At Duke University Press, Ault acquires books across critical area and ethnic studies; feminist, queer, and trans studies; disability studies, sociology, and more. Prior to joining Duke Press in 2012, she received an A.B. (with honors) in American Studies from Brown University and a Ph.D. in American Studies from the University of Minnesota.
